Men in Black 3 Casting Rumors

Written by Nick Dow

As pre-prodcution starts ramping up for the highly anticipated sequel, casting rumors are starting to abound.

Men In Black and Men In Black II made over a billion dollars combined worldwide and now 8 years after the last movie there is casting rumors for a third installation in the franchise.   Will Smith has said in the past that he will be a part of the movie, though there is still no word on Tommy Lee Jones returning.  Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex, No Country for Old Men) is a safe bet to appear there is still no official confirmation at this point.

Now on to the newest rumors.  Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Colombia Pictures, the studio behind the franchise, is in Sacha Baron Cohen (Bruno, Borat) and Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Concords) for a new character named "Yaz."  No word on whether this "Yaz" character is a new agent, an alien, or some third option at this point.  At this point these are still rumors but BD has a good track record so one of those actors could very well be announced as a part of the project in the near future.

The script was penned by Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen, not to be confused with Ethan Cohen of the Cohen brothers.  Etan also wrote a short called My Wife is Retarded.  That is totally unrelated to the story but is a hilarious name for a short.  I enjoyed both Men in Black movies, not that they were phenomenal by any means, but they were a fun flick to kick back with.  Hopefully Tommy Lee Jones returns for the latest.  It just wouldn't be the same without him keeping Smith in check.
